PRIM, a leading Spanish company in the health sector, with an export network of 75 countries and specialising in medical services, is revolutionising the health market by introducing a digital physiotherapy service into its catalogue
-
This service has been developed by the San Sebastian startup TRAK, whose eponymous platform offers professionals the possibility of prescribing and monitoring therapeutic exercise protocols through an artificial intelligence system that corrects the patient in real time
-
The tool has been tested in various centres in Spain and forms part of several European projects such as the COVID-X programme

This is the latest move by PRIM in its quest for diversification and modernisation in its commitment to improving quality of life
The recent pandemic and technological advances have placed the health sector at the crossroads of digitalisation and the emergence of new means that represent a qualitative leap in patient care and in the improvement of their physical conditions, well-being and quality of life, which are more necessary than ever. In this sense, PRIM, a leading company in the supply of medical services, has incorporated the tele-rehabilitation tool called Trak into its product catalogue. This digital physiotherapy application uses the camera of the mobile device, tablet or laptop to offer corrections by means of voice and text messages during exercise and in real time. To do so, it has an artificial intelligence system capable of reading up to 20 joint keypoints.
Physiotherapists and medical specialists participated in the development of the tool and its testing was carried out in various centres in Spain, such as the Hospital Universitario de Torrejón (Madrid); the Hospital Universitario del Vinapoló (Elche); and the Hospital Ribera Povisa (Vigo). It is also involved in various projects at European level, such as the COVID-X programme, which seeks technological solutions to solve the problems caused by the covid-19 pandemic.
“Our platform represents a valid and safe alternative to the traditional methods of current physiotherapy. We aim to offer physiotherapists and patients a useful and quality tool that universalises the rehabilitation service”. Jon Vital, CEO and co-founder of the company, emphasises from Trak. “Physical exercise is essential in any rehabilitation process, but patients do not adhere to the treatment. Now, with TRAK, professionals can increase their patients’ adherence in a comfortable and safe way”.
The future of physiotherapy
This alliance is the culmination of a series of operations that PRIM has been carrying out in its quest to diversify and modernise its portfolio. It is a step forward that demonstrates the company’s ongoing desire to continue to grow.
PRIM, which closed the first quarter of the year meeting its objectives, is now placing its trust in the startup TRAK, with which it intends to offer the future of rehabilitation to its customers. “The relationship between the two entities represents a firm commitment to digitalisation,” says Vital. “Establishing a relationship of trust with a company with the background and commercial experience of PRIM, with more than 152 years of history, is a huge step for TRAK. We look forward to continuing to grow together and provide the best service to the industry and patients.
According to Fernando Oliveros, CEO and Managing Director of Prim: “The addition of the Trak digital physiotherapy application reinforces Prim’s position as a leader in Spain in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation sector. This alliance is an important step forward in our growth strategy in the health sector, both nationally and internationally.

In addition, the session is recorded and the mobility, range and strength data is sent to the professional for personalised patient monitoring. Its 3 founding partners are aware of the need for modernisation of the sector and launched the platform to make healthcare and physiotherapy more accessible to patients.
