The company, which celebrates its anniversary on the 21st of October, continues its international expansion through innovation in its scientific research management software products.
It has been 20 years since Julio Font and Marta Acilu decided to found the company in order to respond to a growing need: the management of data generated in the biosciences. They combined their knowledge of the sector with their management skills and Noray Bioinformatics, S.L. was born, with 3 people on staff and occupying a space in the BEAZ business incubator in the Science and Technology Park of Bizkaia.
As indicated by its name, Noray (a mooring that is given on land to secure the vessel), the company was created with the aim of providing IT support to the biosciences sector, incorporating a multidisciplinary team of professionals from the fields of software development and life sciences.
20 years later, NorayBio has a stable staff of more than 20 people working on a portfolio of products that has been developed over the years, adapting to the needs of the target audience, until reaching the current point, where it offers a set of software solutions that, used individually or together, allow the management of the complete cycle of bioscience research.
NorayBio is today the leading bioscience software company in Spain, one of the most important in Europe and has made a firm entry into Latin America, becoming in recent years one of the best positioned companies in the sector in this market.
Marta Acilu, NorayBio General Manager
“With more than 250 customers in more than 20 countries, we have achieved an enviable position for a Spanish SME in a sector that has suffered different ups and downs in recent years. We have faced challenges ranging from the portability of solutions to the cybersecurity of systems. We are proud to have a very stable and professional team with which we have become what we are today. We have a loyal customer base that has relied on our software solutions for years, allowing us to explore new markets in search of new customers. With locally developed technology we work in an international global world.”
This modernisation of the product portfolio is accompanied, taking advantage of the occasion, by a change of corporate image that aims to emphasise simplicity and cleanliness, in line with the company’s way of working, which is committed to a job well done, responding to the needs of the customer.
