The Med Tech and E-Health sector in Flanders (Belgium) is a fast growing industry. Flanders is home to several leading Med Tech companies such as research institutes and hospitals, and has a strong tradition of innovation in the healthcare sector.
In recent years, the development of Med Tech and E-Health solutions in the region has increased considerably, especially in the areas of telemedicine, electronic health records and mobile health applications. The Flemish government has also launched a number of initiatives to support the development of the e-Health sector, including funding for research and development, as well as the establishment of a dedicated Med Tech and E-Health platform.
In addition, Flanders is home to several world-class research institutes focusing on medical technology, such as the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (imec), which develops cutting-edge technologies for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Overall, the medical technology and e-health sector in Flanders is a thriving and innovative industry, with a strong focus on collaboration between companies, research institutes and healthcare providers to develop new solutions that improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Dr. Jan Wauters, from Flanders Investment & Trade and former member of IMEC, will explain the Flanders ecosystem in order to identify opportunities for collaboration, Euskadi – Flanders, during a seminar, organised by Basque Health Cluster and in collaboration with Basque Trade & Investment, which will take place at the BIC Bizkaia building, located at, Astondoa Bidea, Bldg. 612, Derio, on Wednesday, 24 May from 15:00h to 16:30h. The seminar will be in English.
