The new platform hopes to overcome the challenges of a lack of standards in biological therapies, seeking to establish consensus and clear guidelines to improve the quality and effectiveness of treatments.
MIKS promotes an active network of professionals, facilitating continuous training and access to valuable resources, enriching the field with shared research and best practices.
This initiative, promoted by Dr. Mikel Sánchez, medical-scientific director of the Advanced Biological Therapy Unit (UTBA) and Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA), will be presented publicly on 18 September via an online webinar. Registration is free and interested parties can register HERE.
In the dynamic field of regenerative medicine, the lack of coordination and uniformity in the application of biological therapies has presented many significant challenges in recent times. This lack of cohesion and information, which affects both the products administered and the application protocols, results in studies whose results and conclusions may not be comparable with each other.
To address this problem, MIKS Medical Innovation Knowledge Sharing, led by Dr. Mikel Sánchez, is presented as a medical-scientific community dedicated to promoting consensus and rigour in the research and application of biological therapies from a translational approach. MIKS aims to advance regenerative medicine by promoting the exchange of knowledge and collaboration in biological therapies applied to the musculoskeletal system, always putting the patient at the centre of all decisions.
The cornerstones of this community are comprehensive and practical training, the exchange of knowledge and resources, and expert advice on research.
MIKS promotes training that combines theory and practice, ensuring that healthcare professionals are equipped with the necessary skills to apply biological therapies effectively. It fosters an active community of professionals by creating a space for sharing knowledge and resources to enrich the field of biological therapies with research, experiences and best practices. And finally, it provides expert advice to promote rigorous and applicable research, with the aim of developing innovative, evidence-based treatments.
The public presentation will take place on 18 September via an online webinar. Registration is free of charge and interested parties can register at the following link: https://miks-community.com/es/webinars/4/te-presentamos-miks/
1st MIKS International Congress
In line with this purpose, MIKS is finalising the launch of its first multidisciplinary congress on biological therapies and regenerative medicine. The 1st MIKS International Congress on Biological Therapies will be held on 3, 4 and 5 April 2025 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and is designed to:
- Update biological treatments in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.
- Explore the present and future of these therapies in the treatment of pain and other applications.
- Evaluate the potential of biological therapies as a preferential practice in the coming years.
During the three days of the congress, crucial topics related to PRP and cellular therapies, including adult cells and their application in various medical disciplines, will be addressed. This congress is the first event of this magnitude organised by MIKS and reflects a strong commitment to innovation and excellence in biological therapies.
MIKS offers specialised support to promote rigorous and evidence-based research, with the aim of developing innovative and effective treatments in regenerative medicine, always with the patient at the centre of decisions.
This 1st Congress, together with MIKS’ own activities, represents a unique opportunity to advance in the field of regenerative medicine, unify approaches and improve the precision and effectiveness of treatments. Dr. Mikel Sánchez and his team are committed to improving coordination and standardisation in the field of biological therapies, in order to obtain more accurate results and more effective conclusions in the search for innovative solutions.
‘The main purpose of MIKS is to create a community that fosters the exchange of knowledge and promotes collaboration in the medical-scientific field of biological therapies and a more precise and holistic approach to musculoskeletal pathologies, while offering access to continuing education, support and networking opportunities, with the patient always at the centre,’ says Dr. Sanchez.
