In the BOPV published on the 2nd of March, we can find the terms and conditions of this aid programe under the umbrella of the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan-PCTI Euskadi 2030, which seeks to help the development of R&D projects through the recruitment of doctoral grauates and to promote industrial doctorates in the Basque Country.
The Department of Economic Development and Infrastructures, the main promoter of the aid, aims to strengthen R&D in companies by hiring researchers. As secondary objectives, these aids will increase competitiveness and at the same time improve the labour insertion of highly qualified professionals.
There are two lines of aid: the hiring of people with a doctoral degree for industrial research and the completion of a doctoral thesis related to an industrial research project. In addition to companies, agents of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) may also be beneficiaries of these grants.
This edition has a budget of more than 2.6 million euros for the recruitment of PhDs and another 3 million euros for the industrial doctorate line. Applications are open until 29 April 2022. The grants cover 50% of the project costs, with a maximum annual amount of 30,000 euros for a doctoral candidate and 26,000 euros for industrial doctorates. The contracts must be for 24 uninterrupted months and 4 years, respectively.
